P.I.A. (Paranormal Information Association) Conference 2011

Last weekend myself and the Peace River Ghost Tracker Team (Scott, Sprout, Toni, Tom, Craig, Mikey, Jim, Lor(we missed ya)) attended the P.I.A. 2011 Conference in Seabring Florida. You can see all of us in the picture above wearing purple.

The event was great, we got to stay at the Kenilworth Lodge, a beautiful hotel built in 1916. There were many different speakers and presentations there. Being able to meet some of the other teams that were around and connect with different ideas, thoughts and techniques was a terific experience.

We hope to see everyone again next year!!

A little more about Me

A creative Pisces from Long Island NY Thomas Moore was raised Catholic and felt that the Catholic religion did not fit with his feelings and understanding of the universe. He consistently questioned his religious teachers and rarely got the answers he was looking for. At the age of 14 Thomas spoke with his Mother about discontinuing his Catholic education. Being and open minded and understanding individual his Mother allowed Thomas to pull from Catholicism and find a religion that better suited him. Thomas studied many different types of religion Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, and many others but none felt quite right, that was until he cam across a book on Wicca. Thomas began to study Wicca and felt more and more that it fit with his personal outlook on life, death, and religion as a whole.
From that point on he began to collect as many books on the subject that he could get his hands on. He taught himself the Wiccan religion and dedicated himself to it at the age of 16. From there Wicca became a way of life for Thomas, as it does with many people that practice Wicca. He used it's lessons to better his life and his understanding of people, nature, and the universe as a whole, as well as his inner and higher self. Thomas continued to study and to learn as he put himself through different facets of dedication. At the age of 20, Thomas moved with family to Florida. It was here that he came across a New Age bookstore in his area. Frequenting the store Thomas quickly became friends with some of the Psychics, Teachers and employees of the store. After recieving a reading from one of the stores professional Psychics, Thomas had decided that he needed to expand his studies into all areas of the metaphysical world. Though much of Wicca had already taught him about some of these topics he felt it neccessary to learn in an actual class atmosphere. He began with Psychic Development to hone his abilities. From there Thomas took every class he could, Astrology, Tarot, Numerology, Tai Chi, Kabbala. Mediumship, Reiki, Shamanism, and many others.
Today, Thomas resides in Florida. He teaches classes on many different subjects including Wicca. He holds Full Moon Ceremonies. In his free time Thomas still enjoys reading about Wicca and many other topics in the metaphysical field. He is currently working on articles and his blog. He is attempting to help educate the community and world on the Wiccan religion, as well as Paganism and the Occult world.

In the Face of Adversity, Where Do You Stand?

Think of this as a Part 2 to "Spiritual People Who Choose a Dark Path"

There are times in life when you are Psychically and sometime Magickally attacked by individuals that have chosen this dark path for themselves. What do we as Wiccans do in the face of such adversity?

Many will want to fight fire with fire, attacking as well and causing an uproar for the other party and themselves. Others will take another road and simply avoid interactions. Still others will work their protections to the fullest extent in order to bounce away the negative energy coming at them.

It is a tough situation, for anyone whether you are being magickally, physically, emotionally, or mentally attacked by a person to NOT want to fight back.

"An Ye Harm None Do As Thou Will"

This is the code that we follow, hurting none for ANY reason!

Yes you may want to, YES it may go against what you were taught, to fight back if you are being attacked but sometimes another road is better.

Protect yourself, do all that you can in order to keep the negativity away from you. Work long, and hard with these protections and all the negative energy thrown at you will retreat BACK to where it came from!

DO NOT attack!
DO NOT run away
DO protect and stay that way!

Spiritual People who have chosen a Dark Path

I know what your thinking…..”Wow Really?…and yes…..REALLY!

Whether we choose to see it or not there are people in our spiritual realm that are just as obtrusive as any other uninformed individual. They have been riddled with fear, blame, paranoia and delusion and attempt to use it to excuse their actions and to place blame elsewhere.
One would think that people that follow a spiritual path would be less likely to do things of this nature, unfortunately it is ALL too common.
I hate to say it as much as you hate to hear it I’m sure, but it is something that I continue to come across even to this day.

There are those within the spiritual community that seek control over others through fear, and delusion. If they would take a moment to understand the lessons that they “say” they are following they would know the future that they are going to be creating for themselves. Instead, they choose to place blame on other individuals or “unseen” forces. Mainly because they are so paranoid that people are out to get them they refuse to understand how very little importance they actually hold.
Blame. We have all been guilty of it at one or more points in our lives. As we walk down a more spiritual path though we come to the awareness that it is us who create our present and future and the blame cannot be put elsewhere. We are the ones that with our actions, thoughts, and words create the future that we are going to have to live out. There are no “unseen” forces or “black magic” rituals being done. It is purely the path that we have created for ourselves.
Karma is a wonderful thing in that way I guess. People that fail to understand these more complex issues of life will certainly be doomed to repeat them, and those that choose to blame will at some point have the blame put on them.
Why do these people seek control in this way? By using fear and blame to force others to follow? (is that not “black magic” in it’s purest form? Using it to force another do so something against their own will?) and yet these are the first people to cry wolf and blame someone else for the negative things that happen in their lives.
In the spiritual world no matter what faith, religion, or path that you follow you are taught to take responsibility for your own actions. It is YOU who create the path you must walk.
It is possible that these individuals have spent too much time in the spiritual field and have lost their ability to grasp reality, allowing the paranoia and delusion to set in. It is also possible that they feel themselves to be so “important” to the world that they refuse to take responsibility for themselves, and so cast it upon others.
They are out there, whether you choose to see them or not, they will always be there! Why? In the great scheme of the Universe they have to be, there has to be bad to equal good, dark to equal light, delusion to equal reality. This is the balance the world was made in, and it must remain that way.
So what can you do? First, be sure that you are not one of them. Take responsibility for your actions, fall not into the delusion, but have a firm grip on reality. Practice your magic with heart and from a place of love. Second, when you see these individuals, these people that have infiltrated the spiritual awareness community and attempt to control through fear, blame, and delusion…RUN.
Be aware. You can be caught off guard, I have been before.

Real vs. Fake: Psychics and Healers

he New Age field has certainly grown in popularity over the past few years. There are a lot more practicing Psychics, Mediums and Healers now then there were only a year ago. This is good an bad for many different reasons. It is a positive in the fact that the field is gaining more popularity, and that people are exploring it more and more, however as things grow in popularity it attracts people that are just out to make a fast buck.

I wanted to take some time and discuss with you the differences between Real vs. Fake in the Psychic, Medium and Healing realm. There is a lot that you should know, and more that you should be on the lookout for so that you don't get caught off guard by  a con-artist Psychic.

Things to understand:

1: "Why do Psychics charge for their readings?"
This is something that I hear almost all of the time. You see Psychic ability is not a gift. It is not something that only some of us have and others don't. No matter who you are, you have the ability to develop Psychic skills. They are something that in inherent in all of us from the time we are born. Some of us choose to use them, and others do not. Psychics charge for their readings for many reasons. First, it is their way of life, their business. Many times you will find that a Psychic isn't so much charging you for the reading itself but (more like in my case) is charging you for the time spent. Many of the good Psychics out there (myself included of course) have spent a lot of time and study in the Metaphysical and Occult field. You gain a certain kind of unspoken qualification from that. You have the education and knowledge to charge for your time. This is not unlike a plumber charging you fro unclogging the toilet, could you have done it? probably, but instead you turned to a professional with the education to do it right. Second comes the importance of the reading. If you get something for free, how much value does it really have to you? Nothing, right! The same idea goes for charging for a Psychic reading, if you receive one for free, you aren't really putting much stock into the information that has come through. You sort of take advantage of it, and never allow it to change your thoughts or your life in any way.

2: Not all Psychics read the same
Just because there are many different Psychics out there it does not mean that they are all going to get the exact same information for you. Psychics tend to be great with certain info, and not others. A Psychic that tells you things about your love life and work, may not be good to tell you about health. The best thing to do is try to experience them individually, and find one that suits you fully.

3: Why are Psychics so expensive?
Some aren't (i myself only charge $30 for a 1/2hr at the moment). Usually, with the good Psychics you see a higher charge. These are the ones that have education in the field, and are usually the better ones to go to. The ones that are free, or charge $10 or so need to be inspected further (I'l get to that later). This isn't always true however. In fact there have been many occasions where I have done free readings for clients, or even readings at a discounted cost. Sometimes it is more important that they recieve the information then it is to get paid.

4: If I have Psychic Ability, Why can't I read for myself?
No one said you couldn't, you just have to do it properly. See we are humans, it is impossible for us to stay objective about issues and situations that occur in our own lives, or the lives of our close friends and family. Many Psychics won't read themselves, family or friends because of this. However, if you were to do a reading for yourself, a family member or friend and base the reading 2 years from now, that would be a different story. Then ou don't have to worry about being objective with current situations.

5: Are all Psychic's Mediums and Healers?
Not necessarily! You have to be a Psychic to be a Medium. Mediumship comes with developing and working with Psychic skills, however many Psychics choose not to do Mediumship (for many reasons personal to them). A Healer can also be Psychic, but not always. There are many people in the massage field that also practice a healing technique called Reiki. Just because they practice Reiki, does not mean that they are Psychic.

6: The Psychic I saw was wrong on a few things, that means they are fake right?
No not at all! Below this you will find the tings to look out for as far as a "Fake Psychic" goes. Just because the Psychic you saw was wrong on a few things does not make them a bad Psychic. Even in the entire reading didn't make sense, it still does not make them bad. It would be bad if they refused you your money back, but that is rare. We are human, no if's, and's or but's about it. Humans are going to make mistakes, and even when you are connected to those Universal energies mistakes still happen. Interpretations get messed up. It's ok though. This is why something I implement in all of my readings is a 5 minute rule. If in the first 5 minutes either you, or I feel that the information is not coming through right, or that there really is no connection, the reading stops, and your not charged. You can stop reading with me anytime after the 5 min as well, and i only charge you for the time we have spent together. This is a big difference between real and fake, good and bad Psychics. The good ones have morals and values that are followed.

7: The Medium I saw didn't connect with my (Dad, Mom, Grandparent, Child) that crossed over, that means they are fake? Right?
Again, I say no. I know from experience in having Mediumship readings done (I am not actually a medium myself) that you can't go into an y reading with an expectation of hearing from a certain person. Mediumship is much like calling someone on the phone, sometimes they are home, sometimes not, sometimes they are busy and can't answer at the moment, but whoever is available to answer will.

Real vs. Fake: What to know
Real Psychics will NEVER pull any of the stunts that I have listed below here. The minute you suspect the Psychic you are with as being fake, leave the reading. If you have paid, ask for your money back and if you haven't, then just leave.
Warning Signs of a Fake Psychic

1: That Sounds Familiar
If a Psychic seems to tell you things that are common or undescriptive keep an eye out. This is not to say that every Psychic out there is going to to tell you EXACTLY what your mate to be is going to look like, but if all they say is that you are "meeting a tall dark stranger" it may be a sign. This is what is called "cold reading" it's a magicians trick that anyone can learn.

2: Additional Charges
You may get a reading for $10. That's great! It may even be a GOOD reading! That;s even BETTER! But then the weird begins. The Psychic tells you something like "there's a curse on you that i can remove", or "I can heal your problem", "I can help you attract your mate", "your Chakras or closed", or even "I can light a candle for you." These usually end with "i don't charge much, but it needs to be done right away" That is usually when they ask you to spend more money. I have experienced ones like this before asking for $500 or MORE to remove a curse, sage the person, or light a candle for healing. These are the con artists, if this happens RUN.....and run FAST!

3: Too Good to be True
A Psychic that makes extraordinary claims should be  a warning sign as well. Anyone that ells you they are 100% accurate is someone to look out for. There is no accuracy percentage, or even a way to measure that in the field. Many time you do a reading for someone you never hear back from them on what happened, or if you accurately predicted an event. Remember, we are human, we are going to be wrong sometimes, and that;s OK! Anyone that tells you they can see spirits clear as day, is someone to look out for as well. This doesn't mean that there aren't people out there that can do that, but if they are reading you can giving you no descriptions after making that type of claim, I would stop the reading. Another thing to look out for is the personal story of the Psychic (if they have one), does it seem too good to be true? Or even too horrible to happen to a single person?

These are the major ones that are seen over and over again. Any of these are a good reason to leave the reading.

Have you had readings done before? Have you encountered any Psychic or Medium that was Fake, or a Con Artist?

Leave your posts below, and let's work on bringing in some awareness!!

Energy Awareness

It is truly amazing to me just how energy works within different people. The more you study in this feild the more aware of energy you become. For example: I am currently dealing with a situation that is all about energy control. There is a very demanding, controlling person that is trying to use their energy in order to overpower mine.

The interesting thing is how this person works. They have a myriad of weapons at the ready in order to get an energy based reaction out of me in order to lessen my personal energy so that they can overwhelm me. They attempt to talk down to me, telling me about how they don't like things that I do, places I go. They attempt to control me, constantly asking who I am talking to or what I am doing. They use laziness to their advantage always saying "do this for me" or when the need comes that I need them for something it's a "do it yourself".

I am sure that many, if not all of you are familiar with a person just like this. It is unfortunate that in our lives we have to deal with this sort of energy manipulation. Or do we?

You see we are all in control of our own energy. We decide who we give it to and keep it from. There comes a time where we have to change ourselves and stand up for the people that we are and the energy that we hold within. These pushy type people are afraid. They are afraid of being out of control and therefore attempt to control all things in their view. This can only happen if the people around them choose to let it happen.

Traditional vs. Eclectic

When it comes to Wicca, there has been a large discussion about the differences between practicing within a tradition or practicing in an eclectic way. Each of them have their own benefits, but it is up to the practitioner to decide what is most comfortable for them.

The biggest issue is that many practicing Witches that follow a specific tradition feel that you cannot truly be a "Witch" unless you also follow a tradition. They feel that tradition is passed on from generations, and with that the the magick of the tradition remains. Eclectic Witches don't necessarily agree there (and for the record I am not saying that ALL traditionalist Witches say this)!

With that i ask you this: "What makes a Witch, a Witch?"

In my opinion, a Witch is more than the tradition that they follow, or don't follow. If you practice within the Wiccan faith, and follow the Law of Three, the Wiccan Rede, and the 13 Preambles does that make you a Witch? Not entirely, you see there are many people that practice those things but can't really call themselves Witfches. So what does it mean to be a Witch then?

Witches don't only practice they live their religion. Tradition or no tradition if it it your own, and you live it everyday, that is what allows you to be a Witch. Wicca as a whole is not just worship on specific days, or casting spells, or healing the Earth. It is about allowing the energy of Nature deep within your being, experiencing it for all that it is worth, and living it everyday! The Goddess and God are not going to be upset with you if you miss a ritual, they won't be angry if you follow a tradition or not, they are built of perfect love and trust and exude that energy outward toward their children.

It is not about what you do on the outside only, it's about what you do inside as well. Anyone can pick up a book on Wicca or spells and call themselves a Witch. Anyone can join a traditional Coven, or practice in a eclectic fashion and call themselves a Witch. It isn't until you live the life of Magick everyday, and exude that perfect love and trust (as the human side of us permits) that you can REALLY call yourself a Witch.

The Study of Silence

A person approached me today and told me that she no longer likes to study. She feels that by hearing the opinions of others you are missing the "truth".

I thought to myself, Is this really wise?. She felt that silence was the best teacher, that through silence you could learn to hear the "one true voice" So I spoke and said "yes silence is a good teacher but it is your inner voice that you hear." She disagreed, and unfortunately the conversation stopped there. Though now I am thinking about it.

If we sit in silence, and practice silence (as this woman thought we should) are we really accomplishing any sort of transcendence? I'll be the first to tell you that there are many different views and opinions on things in the spiritual realm. No tow are ever the same, but should they be ignored? Should we disregard the experiences of others in order to follow our inner voice completely?

I do think that following the inner voice is important, though I don't feel that it is the only thing that should be done. Knowing who you are and why you are here is certainly a feat unto itself. Many of us spiritual or not have no clue what our purpose is. We are clouded by the day to day activities that we must endure being "spiritual beings living a human experience". So can we really rely fully on our inner voice? Can we learn to practice silence?

If the world was silent, what would we have? All forms of communication that we work with at the moment would be gone. There would have to be  new way to convey thoughts, emotions and ideas. But we are talking about silence here. The absence of all that. Ideas, thoughts and emotions would not be conveyed, they would fester in the minds of those that thought them and never come into being.

The world as we know it today would cease to exist, and a new one would take it's place.

What are your thoughts? Should we practice silence fully, or use it as a tool to better ourselves?

Christians Desecrate Wiccan religious Site at Air Force Academy

I am absolutely appalled at this! I could say that it makes me angry because I am a Wiccan, but that really isn't the fact. Fact is, it makes me angry because I am a person, a human being. To go through life with such hate for other cultures makes me feel pity and remorse for all that will not be experienced for them in their lives. It is a shame that this sort of intolerance is still around. Not only this, but the fact that it was taken so lightly.
From the Article:

The reaction would have been stronger, Weinstein said, if another worship center had been involved. Had a swastika been placed in the Jewish center, ‘heads would be rolling,’

He's right! Had something of that nature happened we would have heard it all over the news, but have we? Back in 2006/2007 after a 10 year long fight the VA finally approved Wicca as a religion, allowing those that fought and died for their country to be allowed their religious symbols on their gravestones. I thought that this was finally a stop forward (in the right direction) and that it would open the eyes of many people and show them just how many practitioners of Wicca are out there, and maybe be able to educate them on what it is. i guess my hopes were too high.

I don't think that at this point we will ever see religious tolerance in the world we live in. People get so easily blinded by what others tell them to do, and to believe. They close their eyes and their minds and refuse to let a single iota of anything else enter. It all comes down to respect really doesn't it? Respecting the opinions, beliefs and thoughts of other people. Instead we are riddled with aggressive force by groups and individuals that are so clouded they can't remember what the sky looks like.

Many times the belief is so polluted and twisted that the meanings behind it are lost. It's like playing the game telephone, after a while the message gets messed up by the different interpretations of all the different people that play the game.

I could say that I can let this go, but I think many of you know as I do I just can't. Do I get frustrated and even sometimes upset or angry when having a conversation with a person that degrades everything that I believe in? Yes. Do I attempt to educate them and give them a chance to open their minds and learn? Yes. Do they actually make that attempt and reach out from their end to understand? No.

There are fewer of us then we think. Fewer and fewer that are open minded and accepting and respectful. Fewer that are clouded by the thoughts of others and judged by them. Seeing this really did make me think, and I know that I will always be proud of who I am regardless of what others believe me to be. I will always educate others that seek to be educated and NEVER push my thoughts or beliefs on another individual. I will make a constant effort to bring forth religious tolerance (because if we don't we will end up like many other countries).

How do you feel? What do you think when you hear that things like this are still going on and being taken so lightly?

Video Games and bein g Psychic

Hello, my name is Thomas Moore and I am a video-game-aholic.

Come on, admit it...most of you are too and in my humble opinion it's a good thing! I firmly believe that the psychic realm and video games get a long swimmingly. Yea, you'r probably asking yourself why right now, well allow me to explain.
Much of our psychic abilities and information have a lot to do with our visualization skill. We visualize white light, blue bubbles, our chakras and all sorts of different things in meditation. Now I have found that it is easier to visualize something if you have seen it before. It makes it easier for your brain to be able to picture it if you have a clear idea of what it may look like.
Now I'm not saying that the shoot-em-up games are going to aid (as fun as they may be and useful in stress relief)  but others that are more fantasy oriented are quite helpful. The games that deal with Myth and Magic can be some of the most entertaining and also the most creative. Playing these now and again can give you better ideas on what that protective shield could look like.
Try it out...see what happens and post a comment to let us know!

Paranormal TV OOOoooooOOOOOoooo

I’m like most of you out there. I watch all the shows on the paranormal that I can possibly stand. Whether it is the over the top antics of Ghost Adventures, the sub-standard story Ghost Hunters or even the possibly worth a damn Paranormal State, I am glued to the television to see what if anything occurs.
I realize that more and more of these shows are coming on the air, and as a person that lives and works in the field of Spirituality and Metaphysics I’m not quite sure how to approach them. Yes, I am glad that the shows are opening up the eyes and minds of people especially in generations that are more science and technology based. However, what is really being shown?
Reality T.V. an invention that we are all too familiar with nowadays does have drawbacks, especially in this case. Here are my thoughts, stop me if I begin to ramble too much.
So here we are, it’s late at night and we turn on our favorite channel to see that a new episode of our favorite reality ghost show is on. We are excited, because whether we admit it or not, we enjoy having the crap scared out of us and we watch because it is an interest that we all share. So we sit and we watch. We watch what they do, how it’s done, and what (if any) evidence is found. Then we say to ourselves one of two things:
1) You could never get me to do that! Or
2) Quick! Grab my camera and let’s go Ghost hunting!

Say you fall in the latter category (because that is where my track of thought here falls). You grab your little digital camera and run to the nearest cemetery in hopes that you get a picture of that “white lady” everyone in town seems to know about who died in a car accident, was murdered by her husband, or committed suicide. You walk around in the dark (chances are you forgot to pack a flashlight in the excitement) and begin snapping photos. It’s eerie and chilling and gives you a rush of adrenaline that no medication could ever fill. You go home and find that you got nothing. Pity. So you go out and try again, this time though you have probably spent some money on a recorder or camcorder for your outing. Nothing again! You try and try and try but end up with zilch! So you watch some more, and imitate some more, and here is where you get into trouble!
See from a scientific perspective Ghost Hunters are out to prove the existence of the Paranormal by using these semi-scientific methods. However, what about the spiritual side of things? Don’t worry; I’m not going to go on about how I already know ghosts exist because I’m a medium or any of that. I walk in both worlds here; I want the physical and the metaphysical proof. This is something that I personally feel is important, especially in the field of Paranormal Research.
There are very few shows out that show you the spiritual side. Paranormal State used to, that is until they needed increased ratings and had to cut some things. So they leave out the prayers and protection that the team does before each investigation. No biggie right? Wrong! Though this is not the place to go on and on about it but, there are such things as spiritual attachments. Many times it is those that don’t believe that they attach to. No, I’m not purposely trying to scare you (though if I am, maybe you should turn the light on). I simply want to point out some very little known facts.
1) What you see on T.V. isn’t all that happens. You miss out on protective methods, on the time it ACTUALLY takes to set up equipment, take down equipment and go over evidence. Sure it looks great within a 1 hour time period but this is T.V. folks!
2) Things are sometimes misrepresented. Not all ghosts are evil demons out to kill you. Point in fact true cases involving demons are far and few between. They show you what they want to, what is going to get a rise out of you.
3) Psychic information and technology. Together, these things can be a great deal of help. However neither of them are in most cases. Many times you get one instead of the other. I’m not saying that one can’t help the other but you need to back them up. Psychic information should directly back up the claims and evidence that was collected, and shame on you if you go solely on psychic information alone. I have known many great psychics, but no one is 100% right all the time.
4) The “Do as I Do” syndrome. You see something interesting, and try it for yourself. It could be as simple as cursing or threatening the ghost, or as complex as a full on séance. Either way, by simply watching it you don’t know what your getting yourself into!

There used to be a show on the A&E channel. The name escapes me at the moment but it was a Paranormal Radio Show host that also did investigations. He had on his team an occult specialist (which I feel is important to have); however this specialist was doing things in a very dangerous way! He was performing rituals (they did warn you at the beginning of the show that some parts were left out), that were very dangerous in nature. I don’t want to go too far into this, but he was not only summoning spirits to the location, he was binding them there as well. Imagine if someone was savvy enough to find out what the entire ritual was!
Point is this, when we watch these shows we need to do so objectively. We need to take a step back and really look at what we are being shown. Is it for ratings? Probably. Is it real? For the most part, sure. Are we seeing everything? No.
Be smart, do research, and look into classes, books, articles. Read up not only on the Scientific methods of Paranormal Investigation but the Spiritual methods as well. Look for local groups and see if they do seminars or tag-a-long investigations to get first hand experience. Don’t go blindly into the night hoping to catch something and then be stuck when you actually do!

Just a bit of a rant there, and my thoughts I figured I would share.

What is Magick Anyway

As always , aslo found at New Age Articles.

What is Magick Anyway?

By: H.P. Thomas Moore

Being a practicing Wiccan I certainly hear this question often. People are unsure as to what Magick is exactly. Either they think that it is all smoke and mirrors, or that it is some sort of dark art that is not meant to be played with. The fact is that Magick is something that we do often, maybe even without knowing it!

To begin to understand Magick we have to first understand energy. As we know energy is all around us all of the time. Everything that we see, touch, feel, smell, and taste, and hear is made up of energy. It is the guiding force that holds this world together, and yet without our intuitive ability we cannot experience energy on its own. Energy is not only a part of Magick, but it is the force of Magick itself. Before I go further there may be some of you out there that think I am a pretty bad speller. Magick (with a k) is what we are discussing here and has to do with energy, Magic however is the illusion: it is the smoke and mirror that you see in Las Vegas.
So we know that Magick has to do with energy but what exactly does it have to do with it? When you use Magick you are in essence manipulating or changing energy so that you can cause a particular reaction. In other words you are using the power of intention in order to manifest a particular event. Intention is something that we all know about and do, especially nowadays with the introduction of the book “The Secret”. Magick is just that, using intention in order to manifest.
So what do all these spells have to do with anything? I’m glad that you asked! Spells are most commonly used in Wiccan traditions as well as many other Pagan cultures. In a spell you are performing a Magickal ritual or rite in order to aid in that manifestation. Spells you see are very similar to prayer for many other cultures and religions. You concentrate on the intention that you want and ask for the assistance from the energy of the Universe or of the Goddess and God forces. Then you allow the Universe to work on it to aid you in attaining your goal. There is a difference here though. The Universe is not going to do all the work for you of course; you will have to act upon it on the physical level as well. For instance, if someone were doing a spell to find a job but never left the house to go job hunting and just sat in front of the TV waiting, nothing would happen. An employer is not going to come and knock on your door and offer you a position. You have to act on it physically as well in order to get the best manifestation.

So Magick in a nutshell is altering the energy that surrounds you in order to help you attain a specific goal or purpose that you want to occur. Great, now we know what Magick is but we still don’t know how it works. As I said before intention is a big key in Magick and with that come belief. These two together form the most important part of not only Magick but of all things and religions. Without belief, it wouldn’t matter what anything was, it would not have any meaning to it and without intention, you cannot put faith into that belief in order to make it true for you. Belief especially plays a large role here. I have many people that tell me that they preformed a spell or ritual and that it didn’t work for them so all this Magick mumbo-jumbo must be fake. The first thing I ask them is if they believed that it was going to work? Usually after some poking and prodding I get the answer from them and it is a no! If you don’t believe that it is going to work from the very start then there is no need to do the Magick. You are basically negating the energy that you are raising for your purpose as soon as you raise it.
We know from using the power of intention that the stronger you believe a thing is going to happen, especially when adding emotion, thought and visualization to it, it is going to manifest. So when you perform Magick believe that it is going to work, sense it on all levels of your being and use all of your senses to fully experience it as if it has already happened. By doing this you are sure to get a great result in your Magick.

Now you have a basic understanding of the principles and application of Magick as well as the differences that it has with Magic. Go out and perform some spell work and create that intention to bring manifestation!

The 13 Preambles of Wicca

Something that not many are aware of, the 13 Preambles are just as important as the Wiccan Rede itself. This article was also published at New Age Articles.

The 13 Preambles of Wicca

By: H.P. Thomas Moore

In addition to the “Wiccan Rede” there are also 13 articles that are followed. These preambles as they are called aid in attuning the self and becoming one with the earth and the spiritual world through study, self exploration and action. Each has lessons that are learned and not all are easy to complete. It is the drive to complete them and the knowledge that is rewarded as well as the spiritual alignment that makes them worth while. What follows is the list of the 13 Preambles, as well as a deeper understanding of each.

1: Know Yourself
2: Know your Craft
3: Learn
4: Apply Knowledge
5: Achieve Balance
6: Keep your thoughts in good order
7: Keep your words in good order
8: Celebrate life
9: Attune with the cycles of the Earth
10: Breathe and eat correctly
11: Exercise the body
12: Meditate
13: Honor the Goddess and God

As you can see from the preambles the worship of deities falls last on the list. I would like to approach that first before we go in depth into each article.

13: Honor the Goddess and God

The Goddess and God are within us as they are also within all living things on this Earth. In this case by following the first 12 articles you are already honoring the Goddess and God because they are a part of you. The 13th article is more about honoring the spirit or energy of the Goddess and God. This can be better achieved after one has attuned themselves by following the other articles. So though at first the 13 Preambles may seem egotistical in a way they are not once you explore them more fully. These 13 Preambles are nothing new, in fact many religions and cultures have them, though they are less stressed in other religions unless you plan on becoming a Priest or Pastor. They are known to us all on some level or another, and we may even follow these preambles without being a Wiccan. That is ok too; these are 13 good things to live by and can benefit anyone regardless of religious background or inspiration.

1: Know yourself

Self knowledge and awareness is something that we all strive to have. How are we going to work with the delicate energies that surround us if we first do not know what is self? This is a difficult one to achieve as there are still so many things out in our world that do not allow us to fully express ourselves as individuals that are aware and filled with love of the self. Once you come to a full understanding of who you are then it becomes easier to accept others for who they are as well. This acceptance becomes one of the first paths to peace. This is not only knowing the self, but accepting the self as well both must be achieved.

2: Know your Craft

How many people do you know that are fully aware of their religion? I’m not just talking about what their places of worship teach them, or what their holy book says. I am talking a full understanding from the conception of the religion to the modern day interpretations of it. Chances are that you do not know many. People tend to follow the teachings that they hear but do not look further into their religion as a whole, unless of course they have a degree in Theology that is. This article talks about having the full knowledge of what your religion is about. Wicca, like most religions is much deeper than the surface information that we are all aware of. It has tradition, it has its guiding forces and it has its incarnation. I know a lot of people that claim to be Wiccan or Pagan and yet have never read or studied the origins of the religion. How are you going to gain a deeper understanding and spiritual awareness if you do not know where you came from to start with? Know your Craft is just that, it is attaining the wisdom and knowledge of your religion.

3: Learn

What does the word learn mean? The dictionary defines Learn as “To gain knowledge, comprehension, or mastery of through experience or study” Learning is something that we do everyday. Each moment that we are alive we are learning and experiencing things. It is the knowledge that we get from experience and study that allows us to make choices in life as well as live our lives to the best and fullest that we are capable of. Think about what the world would be like if no one ever learned anything? Chances are you wouldn’t be reading this article right now because you didn’t learn to read! When we talk about learning here we are not only talking about the lessons that we have each day, we are also talking about the knowledge of the craft and learning our lessons on a spiritual and karmic level as well. To learn is to know, and to know is to grow.

4: Apply Knowledge

Once you have the knowledge from the learning you need to put it into practical application. Wisdom cannot be spread if people were to hide all of the knowledge that they have attained. This isn’t to say that you need to be pushy, but freely share what you know so that you can learn from someone else what they know. This also talks about the application of knowledge of the Rede as well as the Preambles in your life. Apply them fully and you can experience a life you had never thought was possible to explore.

5: Achieve Balance

Balance is important in any metaphysical way of thought just as it is in any religion or philosophy. You strive to achieve a balance of body, mind, and spirit through various forms and knowledge. Many of us have moments when we feel like this balance has been achieved, and yet it fades after a while. Remember that we are all human, and therefore a prone to making mistakes and it is ok to do so. There are of course some individuals out there Sai Baba for instance that has fully attained this type of balance, but for most of us it will come and go. The main lesson is to allow it to come and when it leaves learn and apply what you have learned to attain it once again.

6: Keep your Thought is Good Order

This article is twofold in nature. First it talks about the power of positive thought. Not allowing negative thought patterns to enter your mind is a large part of keeping thoughts in good order. The more that you focus on positive things the more that you will attract those things, as we know from learning about the power of intention. Second, it talks about thinking before you speak. So many people blurt out what they want to say regardless of if it is going to damage someone else in thought or emotion. Think hard about what you are going to say before it is said. Make a conscious effort to plan your words carefully so that what you say can aid in allowing for the greatest good for the persons that you are speaking to.

7: Keep your Words in Good Order

This follows suit to article 6 above. After you have thought about what you are going to say carefully speak those words. Speak in a manner that is soothing and peaceful and try to avoid emotions like anger, hate and frustration in your speech. We can get so caught up in an emotional swirl that we sometimes forget to not express that in our speech. We can certainly tell the person how we are feeling and that sort of discussion is great, that way no one leaves feeling unwanted or insecure with themselves.

8: Celebrate Life

Live each and every day to the fullest that you can experience it. See each day as a new lesson to be learned and do not hold grudges or allow things to bring you down. Sometimes focusing on the day to day living can be the most rewarding, then we are not feeling any anxiety about what the future may hold for us and instead can truly experience life.

9: Attune with the Cycles of the Earth

For Wiccans this one is done quite often. Every Sabbat that we celebrate aids us in attuning to the cycles of the Earth, but there is more to it than just that. Attuning with the Earth also means to love and care for the planet on which you live. Strive to aid the Earth in life. Living Green, planting trees, aiding nature and its inhabitants all help you to attune yourself with the Earth. If we learn to attune ourselves sand aid in taking care of our planet than Mother Gaia will see to it that we are taken care of as well.

10: Breathe and Eat Correctly

Remember that old adage “The Body is a Temple”? As we talked about before with article 13 the Goddess and God inhabit us all, just as they do all creatures. Taking care of the body by incorporating healthy living plays a part in honoring the Goddess and God. This does not mean in any way that you have to live on nuts, twigs and berries! It only means that you are being cautious of what you put into your body. Be aware of what you ingest and how it is going to affect your body and its systems.

11: Exercise the Body

This falls into the article above in a stronger fashion. Not only taking care of the body through eating correctly but also through exercise. It is the strength of the body that aids in the strength of the spirit and mind. Doing these can aid as well in achieving the balance from article 5.

12: Meditate

We are all aware of the importance of meditation. It helps us to know what is self and what is not self as well as to connect us with our Higher Self and Guides. Meditation is exercise for the mind and spirit. Meditating in addition to the two articles above become the base foundations for achieving the balance in life. Finding the time to relax the mind can aid us in so many ways and becomes an important aspect to living.

These are the 13 Preambles of Wicca. They are guidelines to follow in order to experience life to the fullest and attune oneself with the spiritual world as well as the physical. Work slowly when following the Preambles, don’t rush them or jump ahead, or you will only cheat yourself in the long run. Take each for what it is and learn the lessons that they have to teach you fully.

Releasing Fear, and Changing it through Meditation

One of the first meditations that I wrote. This article has helped many people and has been the cause of a lot of release over the years for amny of my students as well. It can also be read at New Age Articles

Releasing Fear and Changing it through Meditation

By: H.P. Thomas Moore

What exactly is Fear? Do any of us really know? The Dictionary describes Fear as:

“distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid”

Though that is an accurate definition by standards there is still so much about it that we do not understand how to explain or even react to. Many of us have had times where a situation or event has caused Fear to rule our lives for either a short period of time or even longer. This can certainly be distressing especially if the fear is rooted in something that we are consciously unaware of. In this manner it becomes difficult for us to recognize the fear for exactly what it is so that we can learn to either control it or attack it head on. Once we learn that we can face the fears that we have and augment them in order to release them from our lives, there is a release that occurs that helps to free the mind and allow the living of life more easily.

Far be it from me to tell anyone what they should or should not do in life that is obviously what we have free will for. I do suggest that everyone at some point try to find the base of their fears and change that base so that the fear no longer affects them. There are certainly many different ways that this can be done, many that are tried and true like hypnotism, and others that are newly created like meditation. I would like to talk a bit about the latter and about using meditation and self awareness in order to release ourselves from our fears.

Through most of our lives we live with fear and in a world of fear. We are taught very early that there are things to be afraid of, and instead of using that to empower ourselves we choose to allow it to consume us when it comes. Fear can come quickly, almost instantaneous in situations. It can also be built over years and years that fear becoming stronger and stronger as it grows. The problem is that when we have a moment of fear, we don’t have rational thought through that moment. When fear arrives our fight or flight reflexes kick in and we work purely on instinct. Instinct is a good thing, as any of us surely know, but when the conscious mind takes a break from its chore and allows instinct to take over completely, you can run into some problems. My belief is that the more self aware that you are, the easier it is to keep that conscious frame of mind through the intensity of the fear and then uses that energy to empower yourself, and release a stronger emotional reaction in order to free yourself from the bindings of fear. The key in my opinion to releasing ourselves from fear is by the use of meditation and self awareness.

Meditation is the art of stilling the mind so that you become aware of what is self and what is not self. Fear, I believe is a reaction that is not caused by self per say, but caused by emotional reactions that are not controlled reactions. If we were more in tune with our entire self then we would be more easily able to recognize when an emotion is occurring and react to it accordingly in a conscious way. This can be more beneficial to us than reacting in an uncontrolled way that relies on intuition. By being able to control the emotion better we are then able to continue to look at things from an objective point of view and not allow ourselves to get swept away by that emotion. Seeing things objectively can allow us to make better decisions in the face of fear and control it so that it does not or cannot affect us in the future. This can also work to release us from past fears that we have held on to for so long and have little control over.

By now you are asking yourself just how it is that we go about this in order to release ourselves from fear and become self aware. As said before I believe that meditation is the key in doing this, but the type of meditation is very important, depending on what you are using it for. Are you going to use meditation in order to help aid you in gaining better control over your emotional reaction to fear, or are you going to relive a past experience in order to get to the root cause of a fear that you have currently? Personally I suggest that both are done, though it can be a difficult road to travel, and an emotional one at that especially in the beginning. For now I suggest that you choose one to travel and when you feel comfortable with your improvement, travel the other.

Let’s first talk about using meditation and self awareness in order to release ourselves from a fear rooted in the past. This can be a difficult one especially if you are one to believe in past lives and reincarnation. It is very possible that the soul collects the fears that it has learned and takes them onto its next incarnation. This could explain why we have so many fears that we cannot pin point the origins of in the lives that we are living currently. These past fears can also be based from a childhood trauma or experience that we have chosen to forget in order to make an attempt to put it behind us. In that case it becomes more difficult because you are not looking at it from a third party type view, it was actually something that you lived recently and have blocked it from memory. Though you may have blocked the memory from resurfacing on a conscious level, you cannot block the emotion of the fear that is related to it. That is of course unless you use meditation to travel back to the origins of the incident that caused the reaction of fear and work through it on a different level in order to replace the fear with empowerment. Then, when you find yourself in that situation again in a future time you can relay back to the empowerment that you created to replace the feeling of fear and move forward through the situation rather then allow it to make you revert backward. Many time people think that this is in regard to major fears or disorders, and while this will also work to benefit those as well it works for the little fears that we deal with everyday. These can run as deep as possible or be so far on the surface that they seem to wipe off, the point is though to release them from you in order to live life completely and fully without the fear of fear.

In this paragraph I am going to explain the guided meditation that I use to travel to the past of a situation and change the fear into empowerment.
First you will want to get in a meditative position in a place that you will not be bothered by phones children or pets. You may sit, stand or lie down (so long as you don’t fall asleep) as long as you are sure to keep nothing crossed. Crossing of the arms, legs or other parts interrupt the flow of energy in the body and put a clamp on the circuit. If you choose to sit Indian style or in a Yoga position this is acceptable as the energy in those positions is allowed to flow freely. Now what we want to do is to relax our entire body and keep our mind awake and alert.

Begin by taking 3 deep breaths in through the nose and out of the mouth. This will align the energy in the body.

Begin with your brain. Visualize your brain becoming smooth and soft, glowing with white light. As you do any worries anxieties or pains release from the brain and allow you to achieve complete relaxation. Say to yourself “Brain you are relaxed and you release all tension”. Now when you feel that relaxation breathe it in and as you exhale send that relaxation and light shooting down your entire body, through your feet and into the ground below. This cleanses the body of all negative vibration and grounds it out into the earth so that it may be recycled by nature into positive vibration.

Now focus on your feet, seeing them surrounded by the white light. Feel them stretch and contract and drop down into full relaxation. Say to yourself “Feet you are relaxed and you release all tension”. Now move that light up to your legs from ankle to hip. Feel the legs fall into relaxation same as the feet. Say to yourself “Legs you are relaxed and you release all tension.”

Move that light upward again to your lower torso are from hips to chest. Breathe in the light and allow it to drop your lower torso into full relaxation. Say to yourself “Torso you are relaxed and you release all tension.”

Moving up still focus on your upper torso from your chest to your neck. Allow the light to penetrate your body and drop it into complete relaxation. Say to yourself “Upper torso you are relaxed and release all tension.”

Now move to your head from your neck up to your head and face. Allow that light to penetrate you once again and fall deep into relaxation. Say to yourself “Head, Neck and Face. You are relaxed and release all tension.”

Move that light back around you and focus on your back. See the light rubbing your back releasing tension and dropping you into relaxation. Say to yourself “Back you are relaxed and you release all tension”.

Now bring that feeling to your arms and hands. Allowing them to relax as well. Say to yourself “Hands and Arms, you are relaxed and you release all tension".

Now that your body is completely relaxed and has released all of its tension allow yourself to sit for a moment your mind still active but focused on relaxation. Sit in this meditative spot for a few minutes and allow your body to fully sink into a relaxed state. Always remembering that your mind is fully awake and alert.

Now you are going to open your inner eyes and see yourself sitting in a field midday. The summer air smells sweet around you, as a cool breeze rushes past your face. You look to your front and see that there is a thick forest of trees off somewhat in the distance. As you peer into the forest you see a small path appear to lead you. You walk toward the path and travel down into the woods. As you walk you see the flora and fauna on either side of you change color. First Red then Orange, to Yellow, Green, Blue changing still to Indigo, Violet and finally White. As the white flora fade you end up by a river. On the river bed is a basket with a lid. You reach for the basket and open it. You release all of your worries and anxieties into the basket, and close the lid. You place it in the water and let the current take it far away from you.

You kneel beside the river and peer deep into the water. As you look focus on a fear that you have that stems from a past situation. Focus on that fear and put it into the water. Tell the water that you want to see the root cause of that fear. Don’t worry, you are completely protected and will be watching the events take place much like a movie. Only this time you will be able to change the occurrences.

See the water ripple and spread until it is completely still. As you look into the river you see a scene begin to appear. This is the situation that you were in when your fear first arose. Watch the scene play out and see where the fear took place. Realize the root cause of that fear.

Now play the scene once again, only now see yourself as you are now in the scene still watching from a 3rd part perspective. When you come to the part where your fear takes place I want you to do the following:

Lean in to your past self and whisper into its ear. “This fear cannot harm you; you are strong, courageous and loved. This emotion has lost its control over you. You will change your reaction and in doing so empower yourself!”

Now pull back and watch the scene play out once more. This time seeing your past self changing the fear into empowerment and not letting it take control. You have now released yourself from that fear. In no way or circumstance will it be able to affect you as it once did. You will instead feel strong and empowered by similar situations instead of feeling fear. This fear is now gone from your life, and will never again return.

Wipe your hand through the image in the water and disturb the surface as the picture fades away. Turn from the river and travel back down the forest path, this time seeing the flowers change in reverse order White, Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red. Come back to the field that you began in. Relax into the place you started.

Wiggle your fingers and toes to begin to come back into your body. Stretch your body in its place. And finally when you feel comfortable open your eyes.
As you can see from this meditation we used the images that we saw in the river to change the past event from creating the fear based emotion and created instead a powerful and positive emotion to take its place. For very simple fears this meditation done once would be sufficient. For fears that are slightly more extreme, you may find yourself doing this meditation a few times, each time changing the emotional reaction to empowerment. The more it is done, the better and stronger you will become when faced with a similar situation. It is important to know that this is not a quick fix by any means. In fact in some cases this can take more work than that of seeing a hypnotherapist or psychologist. The important factor here is that you are using your own energy, your own voice to lead yourself through the meditation, and take control of your own emotional reactions by replacing it with positive influence from yourself. This is part of self empowerment and self awareness. You are the only one that can decide whether or not to change the situation to an empowering outcome or not.

Now we begin to work on something different. Meditation for self awareness is the next step. This will aid us so that when we come across situations that cause us fear we can remain self aware and take an objective standpoint in order to gauge our emotional reaction and change fear to courage. This too is going to take time to master so to speak. Why is this? Fear is something that we have known since our very first incarnation into this world. We know that it exists. We were unaware however that we could control that reaction to be something more beneficial to us. The next guided meditation will bring you through an exercise built to help you realize your self awareness, and be able to better control your emotional reactions. When we realize what is truly us and what is causing an effect from outside of us we have an easier time with telling that emotional reaction to back off and to replace it with something different. As I said before these will certainly work on fears that are strong within the person. Fears that we know that we have but do not know where they stem from. The best result that you will get from practicing these techniques is that you will be able to disperse fears that you were unaware that you had. Fear of success for example is something that most of us deal with, but are unaware that we have. Because of this we self sabotage our situations so that we cannot achieve what it is we think we want because of the fear. By using the self awareness techniques we can better realize when our unconscious mind is out to get us so to speak, and correct it in order to work for us instead of against us. There are so many different fears that are built inside of us that we cannot even think about living without them. To do so seems impossible to the mind. That itself is a fear, the fear of living freely and easily without fears. A word is to be said here as well about the releasing of fears along with the law of attraction. It is said that what we think we create. All of this is done subconsciously without our knowing. The best way to gauge this is to be aware of your emotions through that self awareness. If we are aware of our emotional reactions and we can change the emotion of fear to something that is beneficial, then it will become easier for us to attract positive influences in our lives, doing that will then make us emotionally happy, and allow us to continue to attract that happiness. So you see, by releasing our fears not only are we allowing ourselves to reprogram our emotional influences, but we are also allowing the flow of positive energy for manifestation.

Close your eyes as before and start with the 3 deep breaths to ground and center yourself. Then move onto the relaxation from the first exercise to relax the body and keep the mind awake and alert.
Now open your inner eyes and see yourself at the base of a waterfall.
As you look around you see that there is a crystal clear river in front of you and you are surrounded by a thick tropical forest. In the center of the river is a large flat stone.

Wade across the river and make your way to the stone. Sit down Indian style on the stone and face the waterfall.

Close your eyes and focus on the breath as you listen to the white noise of the waterfall crashing down.

Breathe in through the nose for a count of 4. 1……2……3……4……now hold that breathe for a count of 2 1……2……now release for a count of 4 1……2……3……4……
Repeat this breathing until you feel your body rhythmically breathing on its own. Focus on the breath, and allow the sound of the waterfall to bring you deeper into meditation. Focus only on the breath and allow your mind to clear.
Your body is now breathing rhythmically on its own following the same 4…2…4 pattern. Now that we have achieved a state of meditation we are going to work on our self awareness by expanding our aura and programming our 8th chakra.
First, focus on the aura around you. Feel the energy shell that surrounds your body. Visualize the colors that swirl inside your aura. See them brighter than they ever were before. Now breathe in and as you exhale expand that aura outward see it as it expands and grows larger. Do this again, expanding the aura out and growing it larger and larger. See you aura reach all the way to the waterfall and down the river, and through the forest in both directions.
Now that your aura is expanded you are able to realize the energy of animals, plants, and other living things that are close to your energy field. You are able to feel the emotions that they produce without allowing yourself to be encumbered by them.

This is the first step to self awareness. The realization of the energies that move around you and the feeling of that energy without physical or emotional effect to you.

You can expand your aura at any time and with it will come the ability to understand the emotional states around you without them affecting you.
Now see a golden, white light surround you. It reaches from high into the sky to far below the earth. Sit in this light and allow it to penetrate your body, mind, and soul. This is the universal light of energy, protection and power.
This column of light now sends a ray to your Root Center, at the base of your spine. As the light touches it you see that it begins to spin and become a bright red color. Allow the feeling of warmth that may accompany it. Now focus on that red light and allow it to grow bright. Watch as it moves itself upward and activates your next chakra.

This is your Sacral Center, near your navel. As it is activated it begins to glow a bright orange. Getting stronger and stronger, you can feel its warmth as well. Soon this chakra rises to activate the next.

This is your Solar Plexus Center, at the base of your breast bone. It begins to spin and glow a brilliant yellow color. As it gent brighter it too moves itself upward quite naturally and activates the next center.

This is your Heart Center, located in the center of your chest. When activated it spins a deep green color. Feel its warmth as well as it spins and grows, until it flows upward.

It now activates the Throat Center in the middle of the neck. This glows a true blue color. And fills your neck with warmth, as it spins. This light too reaches up and moves to the next Chakra Center.

This is your Third Eye Center located in between your eyes at the bridge of your nose. As it activates it begins to spin and color appears as a deep indigo. This too rises fluidly to the next center.

Your Crown Center now activates, located at the top of your head it glows a brilliant violet color and fills your head with warmth. This light rises as a brilliant gold beam and activated the 8th Chakra one foot above your head.

As the 8th Chakra is activated it begins to glow white, silver and gold. It gets brighter and brighter as it is charged with all of the colors of your 7 Chakras. Now we must program this Chakra to allow us to gain self awareness.

Say to yourself:
“8th body Chakra, I charge you to allow me self awareness in all that I do. I ask that you allow that awareness especially in times of fear so that I may use that energy to replace fear with empowerment. 8th Chakra replaces my fears with empowerment as you allow me to gain self awareness. Self awareness is empowerment!”

Now see that chakra turn from white, silver and gold, to a solid gold as it is charged with your request. This chakra will now allow you self awareness through times of fear. This will work on its own without any physical effort from you.

Now focus on the breath once again repeating that 4…2…4 pattern. Find yourself slowly coming back to physical awareness as you see yourself on the rock in the river and begin to hear the waterfall once again.

Stretch in your seat and move your body slowly coming back to physical awareness. Then when you are comfortable open your eyes and return to this room.

In this last meditation we used the chakras as well as rhythmic breathing to center and charge our 8th chakra center. The chakras are spinning wheels of energy that align the center of the body. There are 7 main chakras that are habitually focused on in the metaphysical field, but the body has many more energy centers throughout it as well. The 8th chakra is also sometimes referred to as the Cone of Power. This chakra can be programmed to work for you in any way that you would like. Here we charged it with allowing us self awareness through fear situations.

Be aware that you may find in the beginning that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. This is ok and very common. It does take time for a complete reprogramming of the body reactions through meditation and self awareness, however doing this meditation over and over will energize that 8th chakra more and more so that when situations of fear arise you are more likely to retain self awareness and change the fear into empowerment. This is not a fool proof method by any means. In fact there is no fool proof method available. This takes time and dedication as well as energy from you. That is the most important part though, is that you are using your own energy to charge yourself with empowerment through fear, and in time can become the strongest reaction that you can have, with the strongest energy that can create it…your own.

The Ouija Board- A Metaphysical Veiw

One of my most controversial articles that I have written as well as one of the larget classes that I have taught. I have had so many issues teaching this class to people because of everyone being un-educated properly about the Ouija. Now while I don't condone the use of it, because people often refuse to follow directions, there is still information to be had. It can also be found at New Age Articles.

The Ouija Board - A Metaphysical View

By: H.P. Thomas Moore

Simply saying the name ‘Ouija Board’ brings up a variety of mixed emotions in people. Many have had experiences with this talking board in their juvenile years, and many more refuse to even acknowledge the experiences that they had. In the metaphysical world, a world filled with future psychics and spirit mediums where does the Ouija Board stand?

The Ouija Board, as I have come to understand it is a tool much like any other. The Tarot Cards, Pendulum and Crystal Ball all have their purpose in the metaphysical world, so too does the Ouija Board. Before looking into the metaphysical of this fascinating board, we need to understand where it came from.
In the 1800’s the world saw a rise in the Metaphysical and Spiritual realm. People would gather for Séances and Table Tipping in order to once again contact those that had passed from this life. During the 19th century psychics and mediums alike began to invent different ways to communicate with the dead. Some of these were rather long and tedious like table tipping, while others bean to shape the instrument we know as the talking board. One of the first was an intricate pulley system that held a pendulum. The pendulum would hang over a paper with the letters of the alphabet on it and move in accordance to questions asked by the medium. The pendulum would then point to the letters and spell out its answer. Before long this instrument began to take further shape, and a moving planchette was created in order to hover over the letters of the board.
This form of communication with the dead was one of the clearest yet, and the form of the Ouija Board took shape. In 1892 a man named William Fuld took over a toy and novelty company. Seeing the popularity of the board the mediums were using he decided to create and patent it as a toy, a product that everyone could have access to. Fuld named it the Ouija Board and sold millions of the toys dominating the competition. After Fuld’s death in 1927 the family sold the patent to Parker Brothers, who still hold it and produce this talking board today.

From device to toy the Ouija Board has been around us for years. With its background and superstition it is no wonder why those in the metaphysical world feel strongly about it. The original purpose of the board was to communicate with the dead, and it seems that it has fulfilled its purpose of that even after being packaged as a novelty toy. In fact many people have their first psychic experiences linked to the use of the Ouija Board, though not all of them are pleasant. The metaphysical world sees this talking board as a gateway to communicate with the other side, just like any other tool or ability used within the psychic realm. As they say “With great power, comes great responsibility” and the Ouija Board is not left out of the equation.
One of the things that many psychics speak of when it comes to receiving future oriented information or communicating with the dead is the idea of psychic protections. So what is a psychic protection going to do for you and why is it needed to use the Ouija Board? Before we can understand the use of protections, we need to understand energy. Energy is around us all of the time and is neither positive nor negative. The actions that a person takes with the energy give it a positive or negative charge, forcing the energy to act in a specific way. That being said, it is important to understand that there are spirits that are both positive and negative. The idea of psychic protection is to create a sacred space. This space allows all energy and spirits that are positive to enter and pushes away the spirits and energy that are negative. From a spiritual standpoint this is one of the major faults of the Ouija Board. The board does not come with a protection to use; in fact it doesn’t even mention it. Without the psychic protection, the users are allowing any entity to communicate with them whether it is positive or negative.
If you talk to some of your friends and ask them if they have used a Ouija Board, most of them will tell you the strange and sometimes frightening experiences that they had. It is due to the fact that no protections are used that the negative energies are allowed in. These types of energies ‘feed’ on the emotion of fear and so cause fear in us in order to survive. On the spirit realm a medium or even a person using the Ouija Board look like a bright shining light. The positive spirits see this as a doorway to communicate and possibly re-connect with loved ones and pass along messages, the negative spirits see this as well. Any entity that is positive does not seek out to hurt, harm or scare anyone, they simply seek to communicate and pass along messages to their loved ones. However the problem arises when the negative entities get there first. When you use the Ouija Board, the planchette moves around and spells out the answers to your questions. Often times when a negative energy is attached it will start off by being kind, maybe even telling you the truth. Then it begins to scare you in order to gain energy from your fear based reactions. The psychic protection prevents this from happening, think of it like a bouncer at the door to a club, if your not on the guest list your not getting in…period!
These protections are done in many different ways, from white light to calling forth the Archangels every religion or spiritual path has a protective method with it. Some of the newer talking boards out there do come with a protection. The Psychic Circle for example is a board that in it’s instructions tell you to say a prayer of protection before playing. The metaphysical view on the Ouija Board and talking boards in general is a mixed one. Many feel that the board can be an important tool in connecting with the other side; however it should be done in a way that is spiritually safe for the players.

Next time your at a party or a friends house and they want to play with the Ouija Board or talking board, remember to protect your area. Allow only positive spirits to enter and give their messages and you will surely have a good experience with this psychic tool.

An Easy Start to Tarot

By: H.P. Thomas Moore

I see many people that are interested in the Tarot and learning to read the Tarot. However many people give up right away thinking that it is too difficult to memorize all of the card meanings in order to interpret them. What I would like to do here is to give you a quick and easy way to learn to read the Tarot using keywords that are easy to remember and string together. I will go over both the Major and Minor Arcana Cards in both upright and reversed positions. After you are done with this article you will be able to do a straight and accurate Tarot reading without having to memorize many different phrases for each card. Don’t forget that if you want to add any psychic information that you get do that in your readings! I am giving you the meanings and the way that I know the Tarot, though it may differ from what you have learned it is always good to see it from a different point of view so that you can better find a way that suits to your personal needs as a Tarot reader.

Minor Arcana Cards:

The Minor Arcana cards are all of the cards in the Tarot deck that are numbered only. They usually follow suits such as Wands, Swords, Cups, and Pentacles. The numbers go from 2 to 10 in each suit. Each Card has its own personal meaning, and though they are important there is no need to worry yourself with it right away. Sometime down the line it will be good to learn but what we are doing here is teaching you an easy way to start reading Tarot so we are going to forget about that for now. Instead let’s begin with a focus on the numbers.

All Tarot cards are numbered. If any of you are familiar with Numerology you know that each number has a meaning to it. The number meanings are the first step in helping to read the Tarot. In numerology we add numbers together until we are left with a single digit. It is that single digit that we interpret, that is unless it is a double number that is the same like 11, 22,33,44,55 etc. If it is a number like that it is first interpreted in its double form and then broken to a single form and interpreted as a single digit. What will follow are each number in Numerology 1-9 as well as some doubles for extra fun. I am going to use 1 keyword for each number. The reason that I use 1 keyword is that when you begin to read the cards you are going to remember that 1 word and then use word association in order to pull other information from that keyword. It is the word association from the one keyword that makes this method so easy and fun to start with instead of all of that memorizing. This way you can begin to interpret the cards using your own feelings and wording for each and it will be easier to remember for you as the individual reader.

1: New Beginnings
2: Balance
3: Expansion
4: Foundation
5: Change
6: Responsibility
7: Organization/ Spirituality
8: Material
9: Endings

11: Master of manifestation
22: Master of Equality
33: Master of Knowledge

Each number has one meaning for you to work with so write all that down for now and we are going to move on. I promise you that it is all going to come together in the end!

Now that we know the numbers I want to talk a bout the suits of the cards. Pentacles, Swords, Cups and Wands. Each of these suits carries a lot of information on their own and is very rarely harnessed in the beginning. Each have an element that it is associated with, that element can be interpreted to give information. In addition to that, they also work with particular astrological signs that can be interpreted as well.

SWORDS:
Element: Air – Keyword: Communication- Signs: Libra, Aquarius, Gemini , Winter

PENTACLES:
Element: Earth- Keyword: Material/Spiritual- Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Fall

WANDS:
Element: Fire- Keyword: Action/Physical- Signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Summer

CUPS
Element: Water – Keyword: Emotions- Signs: Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Spring

With just these simple understandings you can already begin to interpret the Minor Arcana cards! Don’t believe me? By looking at all that we have learned so far lets look at a card:

If we look at the “ 2 of cups” what can you tell about the card already?
1: Cups represent water that talks about emotions
2: the number 2 talks about balance

So string it together and see what happens: the “2 of cups” talks about balancing the emotions! Now here is where the word association comes in, see what other words that you can think of that talk about emotions and balance and string them together with the original interpretation that I gave here…………………see easier than you thought right!

With all of that you already have a base understanding on how to read all of the Minor Arcana cards of the Tarot. This means that you can take all of the Minor cards and do a reading with them using all of the information that we just went through. As I said before as well if you want to at some point look further into the cards then you can get the definitions of each and go even deeper into the reading. This is a good start off point and it being so fun and easy will really allow you to experience the Tarot more fluidly. Now I said that I was going to go over reverse meanings as well so here it goes. If a card comes up reversed, it has the same meaning as it does upright only it is manifesting slower than normal. So you give the same meaning and tell the person that you are reading that it is manifesting slower. Also it is good to know that the Minor Arcana represent all of the day to day things in our lives. You can also look at the full reading once it is done and see what suits have more than others. If you have more cups than other suits then the person is working on emotional situations, more wands then it is more physical. Swords they are focusing more on mental and communication, pentacles focus more on material things or spirituality.

Major Arcana Cards:

The Major Arcana are the cards that have writing on them. Everything from The Fool to the Aces and the Court Cards are part of the Major Arcana. We already know about the numbers and the suits so we already have the Aces figured out! Aces are the number 1 of each suit that means they are new beginnings. The type of new beginning depends on the suit; wands for example would be physical new beginnings.
At this point I’m sure that you are thinking that the reading that you are going to be doing will be pretty general, and you’re right. When you are first learning the Tarot the readings are bound to be general, but as you choose to learn more and add your intuitive information to it they are going to be more and more specific as time goes on! Let’s continue on now and talk about the Court Cards of the Tarot.
The Court Cards are the people cards in the deck, Knights, Pages, Kings and Queens of each suit. These cards literally represent people! By knowing the sign of each suit you can even tell what signs that person may be. The King of Swords for instance is going to be a man that is a Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini. Kings represent men that are usually adult males, Queens are adult females, Knights are young adult males sometimes teens, Pages are children and can be male or female. There is usually not a card for young adult females and this is mainly because females tend to mature faster than men, so there is no need for a female young adult card. Now you know not only the Aces and the Minor Arcana but the Court Cards as well!

Now we are going to go into the other Major Arcana cards. This is usually where people get a little freaked out because of the memorizing but you already have some information on them because you know the numbers so what I am going to do here is list the cards as well as 1 keyword for each, then using your powers of word association you can string together other words in order to interpret the cards more fully, then after that you will have a solid base understanding on reading the Tarot Cards!

0 The Fool: New Beginnings
1 The Magician: New Beginnings
2: The High Priestess: Secret Knowledge
3: The Empress: Nurturing
4: The Emperor: Stability
5: The Hierophant: Religion/Spirituality
6: The Lovers: Choices
7: The Chariot: Travel
8: Strength: Courage/Strength
9: The Hermit: Guidance
10: The Wheel of Fortune: Cycles
11: Justice: Harmony/Law
12: The Hanged Man: Objectiveness
13: Death: Change
14: Temperance: Healing
15: The Devil: Bondage
16: The Tower: Rebuilding
17: The Star: Optimism
18: The Moon: Reflection
19: The Sun: Vitality
20: Judgment: Understanding
21: The World: Success

Now you know all of the Tarot Cards and can begin to do a reading based on what you have learned in this article. After you have practiced with this for a while go out to your locally owned bookstore and find yourself a book on Tarot and begin to learn dome of the deeper meanings of the cards as well as the symbolism that they possess. After that you will be able to do very accurate readings and you will open your intuitive abilities as well so that information can come from your psychic side too!
